EMOTIONAL FREEDOM TECHNIQUE is based on the discovery that imbalances in the body’s energy system have profound effects on one’s personal psychology.
For example, when experiencing intense fear, the energy flowing through a meridian is disrupted. That energy imbalance is what causes the emotional intensity.
EFT corrects these imbalances, by tapping on the body’s energy system while “tuned into” the emotional problem.
Tapping sends pulses through the meridian and fixes the disruption. It balances it out. Once the energy meridian is balance, the emotional intensity, the fear, goes away.
Many of the problems vanish in minutes. The most difficult ones often to required anywhere from a few days to several weeks. Fortunately, these are in the minority.
During a treatment, the client is asked to focus on the distressing thought or feeling that he or she wants relieved. It is not necessary to get deeply involved or “re-live” the issue. Thinking about it is sufficient.
The practitioner then shows the client which points to tap to neutralize any disruptions in the appropriate meridians. In most cases, the client will feel his or her distress level about that issue decrease.
