CHROMIUM AND BLOOD PRESSURE CONTROL
Chromium can also have significant impact on blood pressure.
Nutritional specialist H.G. Preuss at Georgetown University in Washington along with other researchers studied the effects of chromium supplements on animals predisposed to the human counterpart of the metabolic syndrome. They found that not only did chromium help with blood sugar control, but the animals receiving the supplement had consistently lower blood pressure than the control group.
Chromium supplementation resulted in in a reduction of blood vessel constriction by lowering the hormone angiotensin II.
